In the middle of a noisy crowd, Jesus heard a very distinct voice. It was the voice of faith. When He heard that voice, the Amplified Bible says He simply “stood still” (verse 40). The Lord quickly stopped! Jesus hasn’t changed; He’s still the same today (Hebrews 13:8). Anytime the Lord hears the voice of faith, He stops. When you speak words of faith, it’s like calling Him to attention. Jesus must stop, because He is under a divine obligation. The voice of faith places a demand on His power. And right now Jesus want’s to respond to your voice of faith. He want’s to stop and give you your miracle! The question is this, “Will you cry out unashamedly to your Saviour?” The blind man wasn't prepared to allow Jesus you walk on by. He insisted and persisted in his actions.

Do miracles just happen or do we have something to do with them happening? Can you and I make miracles happen? Theses are questions I'm sure we would all like to find answers to. In Judges 6:13, Gideon faced the same dilemma: “O my lord, if the Lord is with us, why then has all this happened to us? And where are all His miracles which our fathers told us about.” Most believers agree that God is still in the business of working miracles, and Galatians 3:5 confirms this, “Therefore He who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you, does He do it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?” That being the case, the God who so graciously supplies us with supernatural power (by His Spirit) persists in performing supernatural deeds on behalf of His children. And He does this by hearing their faith!

As we journey down the path of life toward our destiny, we need to continuously receive clear and concise instructions from God’s Spirit (we need to be led). As with a SatNav, we must use these instructions to take us and keep us on the correct route. Otherwise there’s no point in having this awesome Helper (a means of supernatural assistance). “And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever” (John 14:16). So what exactly is the Helper going to help us accomplish? Well, the Greek word translated Helper means; ‘one who draws along side.’ But the purpose of drawing along side us is so that we can do exactly what the One who sent Him does! “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father” (John 14:12). The Holy Spirit’s primary mission is to manifest Christ in every situation - through you and me - so that He can continue His ministry!

The distinctive quality every child of God possesses is “being continually led by the Holy Spirit. It is the hallmark of Christianity! That being the case, where does the Holy Spirit lead us to? But before we answer that question let’s get a better understanding of the importance of being led by the Spirit. Has any one of you ever used a Satellite Navigation System? If you have, you will know that the first thing you need is an address or post-code before you can proceed. Without this information the SatNav is unable to find your destination and work out the route (by using the satellites positioned over the country you are in). But there is one thing you must be absolutely sure of before you log in your information, and that is, that the SatNav knows the route better than you do. Right? You don’t ever expect the SatNav to lead you astray - otherwise you may as well embark using your own directions.

How many of you have ever been upgraded when travelling on an aircraft? If you have, I’m sure you will agree that it brought you great satisfaction! Well, imagine if you could upgrade your life. Imagine if you could move from economy to first class in everything! Wouldn’t that be something? The truth is, in God’s plan for your life He wants you to experience the super-abundant life that Jesus came to secure (John 10:10). You are systematically being transformed by the Holy Spirit into the same image as Christ, and as a result, your destiny has a path that takes you from “glory to glory” (2 Corinthians 3:18). Everywhere you look in the Bible you will find confirmation that God desires for you to live a joyful and victorious life. In fact, God takes pleasure in the prosperity of His people (Psalm 35:27).

Life Matters TV presents 'The Presence of God', another teaching from Pastor Chris Demetriou at Cornerstone the Church. For more information visit our website at www.life-matters.tv

God’s presence radiates joy, and His joy permeates into every aspect of our being. That’s what ‘fullness’ means! If we as His people are to reflect His image, then we too must radiate joy. Back to what Loraine said… The reason the worship team could express such complete joy was because they were constantly in God’s presence. It is in His divine presence that immeasurable joy can be found. Hence, when we come into God’s presence we become ‘joy-full’ (people full of joy)! And that kind of joy cannot be obtained anywhere else. Also, it’s only those who are allowed to come into His presence that can be effected by the divine joy being radiated. The unbeliever cannot experience this kind of joy.
